IT Project Manager

Overall Purpose The Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to users. The project manager may be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using Waterfall or hybrid (e.g. mix of Agile and Waterfall), methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple divisions or departments. The project manager may play a number of different roles in actual practice. In performing these roles, the project manager will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending Waterfall project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical projects with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.  Skills Requirements Candidate must be customer focused, responsive, and take initiative in this role. This position must be an excellent communicator with the ability to effectively communicate and present technical information to all levels of the organization.  Principal Responsibilities Define project scope, schedule, and staffing needs while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects. Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members. Support business and technology application owners in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance. Define and manage a well-defined project management processes, train staff in these processes, and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile project management. Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team. Work closely with functional areas, technical teams and clients to define systems/project priorities, scope, approach, resource requirements, timing deliverables and funding. Analyze business and technology options for IT deployment and strategic planning. Assist in troubleshooting technical problems and identifies mitigation strategies for technical issues and risks. Learn new technology and other computer-related concepts through informal mechanisms including journals, books, information lectures, participation user group conferences, participation in off-site training, enlisting input from peer network of professional staffs within IT industry. Organize and chair meetings as requested to facilitate communication. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
